The loss of skin elasticity, the disappearance of the firm mammary gland tissue or weight loss is usually responsible for sagging breasts. A breast uplift will correct this by removing the surplus of skin in order to retrieve the original shape and volume of your breasts, eventually the shape can also be enhanced by by introducing implants. When implants are used one must expect the same inconveniences as after a breast augmentation surgery (see breast enlargement). This intervention is carried out under general narcosis and takes approximately two hours. In general this procedure can be carried out as a day case, although when the uplift is fairly extensive, an overnight stay at the hospital may be required. Any real physical effort must be avoided for several weeks, but you should be able to return to work after 5-7 days.
