Extra breast volume is obtained by introducing breast implants. The aim of the surgery is to obtain a natural-looking result. The implants are introduced through an incision around the aereola, under the armpit or underneath the breast, depending on the type and size of implant chosen. The breast implants are placed, whenever possible, behind the muscle in order to help avoid capsular contraction. This surgery takes one hour under general anaesthesia. The main post-operative inconvenience is muscle ache. It is judicious to take a week off work in order to rest after your surgery.
