There are different treatments, depending on the depth and the location of the wrinkle. Wrinkles can be filled out with synthetic products which have a temporary effect (fillers), a permanent effect (silicone) or natural material (lipofilling).
The face is very prone to the apparition of wrinkles because of the underlying muscles. By temporarily paralysing those small muscles with the use of a product such as Botox the wrinkles fade away.
The loss of skin elasticity, age or sun damage can all contribute to the result in the appearance of small lines and wrinkles. These finer lines can be treated by re-surfacing methods such as dermabrassion or chemical peels.
All these treatments take place under local anaesthesia.
